Decorating the Ruthless face of Meles's tyrannical regime doesn't hide his appalling crimes against humanity!!
'The Case of deliberately caused Lingering Famine in Abyssinian Empire'
June 24, 2008
The Abyssinian Empire
The Abyssinian Empire is the last remaining colonial residue of the planet where people's life is increasingly brutalised and becoming difficult due to several reasons including their successive regimes worst human rights records, the empire's being poorest country on earth and its rulers' de-personalising nature. Over 80 distinct ethnic groups whose cultures, values and ways of lives are entirely different are brought together to this darkest empire, the 'Cemeteries of nations', to receive nothing; but relentless brutality, abject poverty, low life expectancy even from sub-Saharan Africa standard, illiteracy and ignorance, high infant/maternal and child mortality in the world; endless conflicts resulted from oppressions, meticulously masterminded massacres and atrocities perpetrated by the regimes on various periods of times since 1890s' colonial expansion.
Extrajudicial detentions and torturing to death is rampant. Freedom of expression is non-existent and/or even unthinkable. Peaceful demonstrations regarded as criminal acts. There are also deliberately orchestrated conflicts between oppressed nations of the empire to help the colonial settlers to exploit the recourses of their colonies while those nations are fighting with one another. Such tactic also remains the way of lives for their successive regimes as they can't survive without exploiting the resources of Oromia, Sidama-land, Ogaden Somali and the rest colonies.
There is no freedom for free movement from place to place in ones own region without bowing to their repressive establishments that are stretched from federal to the farmers associations whose over all objective is depersonalising the nations of the empire with particular focus on Sidama, Oromo, Ogaden Somali, Agnuak in Gambella, and almost all southern Ethiopian nations who are fumigated in the pressure cooker known as 'Southern Ethiopian Nations and Nationalities Regional State'.
The successive Abyssinian regimes including the current Meles's one cling onto power to brutalise these nations; yet the colonisers lead the life of extravagancy at the expense of their subjects. Their recent so called Coptic Orthodox's Millennium's parties that costed the nations over hundreds of millions of dollars is some of the few examples and their intentional marginalisation of others.
The West and Western Media's attempt to decorate the Ugly face of Meles's regime.
'A doctor by training, Meles had formally studied economics because he knew that to bring his country out of centuries of poverty would require nothing less than economic transformation, and he demonstrated a knowledge of economics and indeed a creativity......... He showed a deeper understanding of economic principles- and certainly a greater knowledge of the circumstances in his country-than many of the international economic bureaucrats that I had to deal with in the succeeding three years. Meles combined these intellectual attributes with personal integrity: no one doubted his honesty and there were few accusations of corruption with his government', (Joseph Stiglitz 2002, pp 26)
Shame on Mr Stiglitz!! He is the most liar who walks over the souls and integrity of tens of thousands who are deliberately and brutally murdered by the order of the person whom he portrayed him as being an angel! This is a typical example of the western politicians towards the plights of voicelessly perishing nations under the most repressive Meles's regime. The failure of the west politicians to believe how pernicious Abyssinian regime is remains mystery for any genuine minded human; in particular to see those who are from democratic parts of the world to hold such hypocritical stance against the regime that brutalises the helpless. That was what exactly Josef; the winner of Noble prize for economics in 2001, has done.
On several occasions Meles has been handpicked by the Western governments; notably by the US and the UK disregarding the plights of innocent civilians who loose their lives on daily bases to the Meles's security forces since he took over the power from his socialist predecessor dictator, Menguistu Hailemariam who has butchered tens of thousands from 1974-1991; as is doing Meles's regime since the end of 1992 to date.
The former UK Prime Minister, 'Tony Blair, also hand picked Meles Zenawi as a role model for his being promising leader for African in his 'Commission for African' to get Africans out of miserable poverty. Much to my and my fellow Africans' indignation, Tony Blair chose the most murderous and deceitful dictators to be a role model for Africans. And sadly, Tony Blair tacitly revealed his intention that Africans in general, several nations under Abyssinian colonisation in particular don't deserve genuine democracy, justice, freedom of choice and opportunity to enjoy peaceful and productive life. Soon after, however, Meles Zenawi showed Tony Blair that he is capable of butchering innocents when it comes to power sharing. His security forces indiscriminately massacred over 290 civilian on the capital's streets on peaceful and non-violent demonstration in the aftermaths of the May 15, 2005's highly rigged election, in day lights. Hundreds of thousands were thrown to jails and wounded and brutally tortured. The reaction of Tony Blair's government was just simple pretence! The opposition party leaders who won the election are thrown into prisons for over the period of two years.
The US president, George W. Bush also chose Meles and his regime to fight his proxy way in Somalia since 2006 by using the sons and daughters of the nations those who are receiving Meles's brutal treatments. Despite international outcry, Meles's regime in collaboration with the US and the UK is brutalising Somali citizens and currently his army is committing genocide under the pretext of 'War on Terrorism' to achieve nothing; but to create further volatility in the region. Therefore, the US's as the well as the UK's governments are showing that they don't care and don't think deep in their minds that Africans need to be treated with respect and dignity as fellow human beings in their lands.
The Media
As a genuine individual who believes in that we all are human and are created equally, thus no one deserves to be treated brutally because of his colour, race, political opinions and regional differences; I feel appalled to see the western medias from where there is no problems on freedoms of expressions continue to decorate the ugliness of Meles's repressive regime that is butchering the nations of the country. When I watch some of the prominent ones by expecting the journalists to be impartial when they discuss about Abyssinian Empire; astonishingly they don't dare to tell a fraction of the truth. Instead they always try to beatify Meles's regime's disgusting face and portray him as an angel. They don't talk about the century old successive Abyssinian ignorant, barbaric and brutal regimes hidden reality.
The saddest part of the Western media as I watch them also is that the portrayal of Robert Mugabe who has confiscated the lands of the few white British farmers as the most evil person on earth under the pretexts of human right violations, poverty and lack of democratic movements in his country. These all are prevailing facts in Abyssinian Empire; yet none of the Medias talk about Abyssinia. The irony here is that Mugabe has got viable opposition party that challenges the regime and receives international coverage although there are imprisonments and tortures. Under Meles' regime, the opposition leaders and their members all were detained for years with made up charges of treason to remain psycho-emotionally tortured and politically incapacitated.
If we compare the numbers of innocent peoples who have lost their lives to the Meles's security forces in the past 17 years with that of the Mugabe's regime's victims, it is much higher in tens of thousands than the numbers peoples who are killed by Mugabe's security forces. Yet, Western Medias portray Meles Zenawi as an angel and Mugabe the most evil person on earth! I personally believe that Mugabe is one of the evil leaders ever world had. However, from the evilness of both, Meles's being serial killer is much deeper than Mugabe's heinous nature. Yet, Western Medias failed voiceless innocents who are dying and receiving brutal treatments on daily bases.
The June 12, 2008's HRW report on the crimes against mankind being committed by the Meles's security forces supported by the US and the UK governments in the Ogaden Somali region against the Ogaden Somali people revealed the hidden face of Meles's regime. Yet, the Western Media didn't do any further analysis and attempt to show to the global community the unfolding tragedy in that part of Africa. Why?
Serious Crime against individuals choices within the Empire
Meles's regime is also obliging all employees and the new graduates to be his party, (TPLF/EPRDF) members if they want to secure their employment, if any. When some one graduates from Universities/colleges, he/she is expected to fill in the new party membership form in conjunction with that of the employment. Otherwise, they can't be employed. They also are regarded as opposition party members that operate from abroad if the decline to sign in. In the 21st century where people's levels of consciousness rose significantly, it is only Abyssinian Empire that is supported by the Western powers to relentlessly torture its citizens under the silence of the western Medias.
Status-Quo-Who is Responsible for the unfolding human tragedy?
It is mind boggling to hear about the inflation rate in Zimbabwe that is crippling the livelihood of the nation. Yet the western Medias don't talk about the over 200% inflation rate that is rampaging Abyssinian Empire. Yet they embellish every thing when they talk about the empire. Even the journalists become very selective with their wordings. They don't talk about the magnitude of the problem impartially! Instead, they convey the message they are being strictly lectured by the smart Abyssinian dictator Meles Zenawi's information and security offices.
On the 9th of June 2008, the BBC senior correspondent Gavin Hewitt went to the southern Ethiopian region called 'Wolaita' from where he was reporting about the famine in that particular region. Gavin was escorted by the TPLF security personnel who was pretending to be an aid worker and was talking to him in English about the famine as if the weather was the only responsible for all human tragedy unfolding in the empire. Gavin didn't dare to ask either positive or negative role of the government in the process. He didn't say any thing about the role of Meles's regime.
The people of that particular region can't say any thing about themselves. Yet Gavin discussed the manifestation of the problems without daring to say any word about the underlying cases of the famine with the colonial agents. He didn't dare to call it famine, instead he said, 'food crisis'. He knows and strictly warned by the regime to remain silent. If this is called 'famine', it undermines the reputation of Meles's regime that is fighting proxy war in Somali where his security forces are committing genocide; for the Western supper powers. Gavin also didn't criticise the lavish parties that took place and continued to do so under the pretexts of Ethiopian Millennium that is none for the rest of the nation others than Amhara, Tigray and Guragie. He couldn't hide, however the greenness of the southern regions. The famine in the lands of the most marginalised groups of the nations is progressing from day to day. Tens of thousands are dying on daily bases in single region such as the Sidama, Wolayita and others parts of the empire. Sadly the western powerful governments, in particular the US and the UK are failing the nations under Abyssinian Empire!
The only causes of such relentless human sufferings under Abyssinian Empire remains Meles Zenawi's brutal regime that is supported by the Western powers. We need people who stand on the pillars of their accepted principles to emphatically condemn Meles's regimes heinous acts against the nations under Abyssinian occupation.
